Two Arrested After Fighting over Plan to Buy Oxycontin

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Two are in custody after allegedly fighting over a plan to buy Oxycontin.

The Boise Police Department reports that 19-year-old Chase Panda and 22-year-old Keegan Carl Perez were fighting in a parking lot Saturday night.

Responding officers found "evidence the fight began over an alleged plan by both suspects to purchase Oxycontin."

Panda and Perez were arrested and charged with criminal conspiracy, a felony.

Woman Arrested for Assaulting Officer at Traffic Stop

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A 26-year-old was arrested after reportedly assaulting a police officer at a traffic stop.

The Boise police say a car was pulled over for running a red light on West Emerald Street early Saturday morning.

A passenger, 26-year-old Jessica Redman, appeared very intoxicated, officers say. When an officer reached to turn the car off, "fearing she may try to drive away," Redman reportedly punched the officer in the face and scratched his neck.

Redman was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer.

The driver, Jason Whittier, was also arrested for violation of a no contact order.

Boise Woman, 21, Arrested in Connection with May 2013 Fraud

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A 21-year-old Boise woman was arrested on Sunday night on multiple outstanding warrants related to incidents beginning in May 2013.

According to the Boise Police Department, officers confirmed that Anja Hasanovic was in a residence on South Cloverdale Road, and that she was wanted on warrants for felony forgery, receiving fraudulently obtained goods and four counts of failure to appear.

Hasanovic allegedly received medical services using a fake identity. Boise police and financial crimes detectives investigated the case last year and had been unable to locate Hasanovic until Sunday night. She was booked at Ada County Jail.

Boise Man Busted for Possession of Controlled Substance

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Boise man is in custody on substance possession charges.

Boise Police say 26-year-old Alexander Allan was suspected of robbing someone of a cell phone early Monday morning, and responding officers then found Allan in possession of a controlled substance.

Allan also reportedly had an outstanding warrant for drug delivery charges.

Allen was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Store Employee Steals Gift Card from Customer

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A retail store employee is in custody after reportedly stealing a gift card from a customer.

Boise Police say when a customer bought a $100 gift card Saturday, store employee Rebecca Matney gave the customer an inactivated card. Matney then reportedly used the gift card herself.

Matney was arrested and charged with grand theft.

Boise Firefighters Called After Broken Sprinkler Floods Apartments

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Boise firefighters responding to an automatic fire alarm from a residential building on Sunday night found a broken sprinkler pipe.

Water sprinklers inside the building on W. Front Street had run for "several minutes" before firefighters were notified, the Boise Fire Department said.

Several residents were displaced for the night after water spread from the 9th floor all the way down to the sixth floor in some areas.

The property managers are expected to open an investigation into the broken sprinkler.

Boise Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Electronics Store

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Boise Police are searching for a man who robbed a local store at gunpoint on Tuesday evening.

Police were told that an armed robber entered an electronics store, located on the 6400 block of West Fairview Avenue around 6 p.m. The man brandished a black handgun, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise from the store.

The robber then fled the scene on foot.

There were no reports of injury.

Three in Custody for Stealing TV

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Three people are in custody after reportedly stealing a television from a retail store on Monday.

Boise Police say after the robbery one suspect was detained at the store, located on the 8300 block of West Overland Road, while two other suspects fled the scene in a car. The two other suspects were then apprehended.

Tye Davis, 32, Cassy Masse, 27, and Kerry Woodard, 35, were arrested and charged with burglary.

Woman Reportedly Steals Clothes, Makeup from Unlocked Truck

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Boise woman has been arrested Tuesday for allegedly stealing personal items from an unlocked pickup truck.

Boise Police say the victim witnessed 24-year-old Kelsey Lafollette entering her unlocked truck, which was parked in front of a house on North Allumbaugh Street, and stealing clothes, makeup, and sunglasses.

Lafollette fled the scene, but was later apprehended by authorities and found in possession of the reported missing items.

Lafollette was arrested and charged with burglary.

Two Men Arrested After Crashing Stolen Cab

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Two men were arrested early Thursday morning after reportedly crashing a stolen cab.

Boise Police say the armed suspects entered a cab on the 1300 block of North Milwaukee Street around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday. They reportedly robbed the cab driver and stole his cab. The suspects then led police on a pursuit, during which they crashed the cab into three patrol cars.

The suspects were eventually apprehended and taken into custody.

Police say one suspect was hospitalized for injuries, but no other injuries were reported.

Driver from Downtown Bus Crash Charged with Negligent Driving

(BOISE, Idaho) -- The driver from the Jan. 6 downtown bus crash has been charged with negligent driving.

On Jan. 6, the ValleyRide bus driver crashed on South 13th Street between Grove Street and Main Street.

Boise Police say the driver "was driving drowsy and appeared to have his eyes closed just prior to the crash."

No one was seriously injured.

Police say the driver, a 59-year-old Boise man, could face up to a $300 fine and up to six months in jail.

Man Accused of Stealing Cash from ATM; Shooting at Officers

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A 34-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly stealing money from an ATM and shooting at law enforcement officers last week.

Nathan Paul Davenport was indicted by a federal jury in Boise this week, on charges of bank larceny by use of a dangerous weapon and use of a deadly weapon during a felony offense, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Davenport, 34, is accused of breaking into an ATM at an Idaho First Bank in McCall on Jan. 10, stealing cash, and using a rifle to shoot at responding law enforcement officers.

One Hospitalized After Rollover Crash on I-84

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Washington state woman is in the hospital following a rollover crash on Wednesday.

The Idaho State Police reports that 29-year-old Jacobey Holderman was on Interstate 84 when she drove off the right shoulder, causing the car to rollover.

Holderman was ejected from the car. She was taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise to be treated for her injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Police Investigating Two-Car Crash on US 30

(TWIN FALLS, Idaho) -- Police are investigating a two-car crash near Twin Falls on Wednesday.

The Idaho State Police reports that 72-year-old Melva Bengoechea had been driving west on U.S. Highway 30 and tried to turn south onto North 2700 East Road. Bengoechea reportedly did not yield at the turn, and collided with 34-year-old Steven Kooncea, who was driving east on U.S. 30.

The state patrol did not report injuries to Bengoechea or Kooncea.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Man Sentenced to over Six Years in Prison for Trafficking Meth

(POCATELLO, Idaho) -- A Rigby man has been sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for trafficking methamphetamine.

Emilio Raymond Martinez, 31, was sentenced on Wednesday, after pleading guilty in October 2013 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.

Authorities said in February 2013, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Bonneville County, where officers found Martinez in possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of distribution.

Caldwell Man, 42, Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Two at Tavern

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A 42-year-old Caldwell, Idaho, man was arrested at his home on Sunday after being accused of stabbing two people at a tavern on 7th Avenue in Caldwell.

Noe Cardenas allegedly got into an argument with a Nampa man, prompting a physical confrontation, the Idaho Statesman reports. Cardenas is accused of cutting the other man with a knife.

A second patron who attempted to stop the fight was reportedly stabbed as well.

Cardenas fled the scene, but officers caught him at his home.

Idaho Farm Sales Set Record for Fourth Consecutive Year

(BOISE, Idaho) -- For the fourth consecutive year, Idaho's agricultural cash receipts hit a record high.

Idaho farmers and ranchers are projected to have made $7.82 billion in sales of crops and livestock, according to research done by the University of Idaho. That figure is a three-percent increase over 2012.

The state's net agricultural income is projected at $2.73 billion, about the same as last year due to slightly increased expenses, according to the university's study.

Cash receipts on sales of cattle and calves, milk, other livestock, barley, dry beans, hay and potatoes all totalled higher than in 2012.

Cops: Man Held with Fake $5 Bills in Nampa

(NAMPA, Idaho) -- An investigation into counterfeit $5 bills circulating in Nampa has led to the arrest of a 37-year-old man.

Jason Janes, of Nampa, was arrested on Saturday night after he allegedly tried to pass a fake $5 bill at a local store, police said in multiple media reports.

Janes, who was allegedly found in possession of more counterfeit $5 bills, has been charged with possession of fake bills, possession of counterfeiting equipment and burglary.

Boise Man Arrested for Drug Possession

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Boise man was arrested on Monday after he was caught with illicit drugs during a traffic stop.

A Boise patrol officer reportedly spotted Daniel Eakins, 55, in a parked car near North Hilton Street. The officer saw the vehicle, which was parked with its engine running, in the same location for an extended period of time, prompting him to contact Eakins.

The officer determined that Eakins had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. During a search of the vehicle, Eakins was found in possession of a baggie that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers arrested Eakins on possession of methamphetamine and failure to appear charges.

Boise Man Arrested After Multiple Thefts

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Police arrested a 41-year-old Boise man on burglary charges on Sunday after he allegedly stole an alcoholic beverage from a Boise convenience store.

Christopher Whipple, 41, is accused of entering the store on South Capitol Boulevard on Sunday at about 10:20 a.m., making a small purchase with his credit card and then leaving the store with an unpaid-for alcoholic drink. A store employee contacted police who were initially unable to locate Whipple.

About an hour after the first incident, Whipple re-entered the store and again made a small purchase before taking -- and not paying for -- another alcoholic drink.

Officers responded to the second incident and arrested Whipple on felony burglary charges.
