Clik here to view.(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Boise man has been arrested on drug charges, following a traffic stop on Monday.
According to Boise Police, on Monday morning officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle allegedly spotted traveling with an obstructed rear license plate. Police say passenger, Cody Bauer, consented to a search, and he was allegedly found with two glass pipes with white powdery residue and a clear plastic baggie also with white powdery residue. The substance reportedly field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Bauer, 20, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Clik here to view.(BOISE, Idaho) -- With increased DUI patrols through the New Year's holiday, a Boise woman was arrested early Tuesday morning on drunk driving charges.
According to the Boise Police Department, Christine Dilbeck, 43, was stopped by an officer at about 3 a.m. The officer smelled an odor of alcohol and subjected Dilbeck to field sobriety tests, which she failed.
A breath test found Dilbeck had a blood alcohol level of about .098.
Dilbeck was charged with felony driving under the influence due to her two previous DUI convictions.

Residents Escape Uninjured from Shoshone Street House Fire

According to the Boise Fire Department, the fire at a home on the 2300 block of South Shoshone Street was contained to one bedroom, and the rest of the home only suffered light smoke damage.
No injuries were reported and both residents escaped from the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Garage Fire Caused by Fireplace Ashes, Officials Say

Clik here to view.(BOISE, Idaho) -- Officials say a garage fire on New Years Day was caused by the improper disposal of fireplace ashes.
According to the Boise Fire Department, on Wednesday morning, firefighters successfully stopped a fire in a garage that was detached from a home.
The garage and its contents were destroyed.
The fire department says the fire was likely caused by fireplace ashes that were put in a trash container and left next to the garage.
No residents were injured, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital from slipping on ice.

Former Jail Deputy Accused of Sexual Contact with Inmate

Meridian resident Seanjay Wright, 36, was arrested on Wednesday night, according to the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
Wright was charged with two counts of felony sexual contact with an adult inmate or juvenile offender.

Additional Charges for Teens Accused of Burglary Spree

Canyon Lund, 19, has been charged with nine counts of grand theft and 12 counts of burglary. Selma Pasic, 18, has been charged with six counts of grand theft and six counts of burglary.
Boise Police believe the suspects stole jewelry and electronics from homes with the intention of selling or trading the items for drugs.

Nampa Man Busted with Meth on New Year's Eve

The Boise Police Department reports that 21-year-old Cesar Perez was pulled over near West Franklin Road and South Phillippi Street for an expired registration.
Police say officers found a baggie in Perez's car with a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Perez was arrested and charged with controlled substance violation, a felony.

Man, 20, Busted for Robbery

The Boise Police Department reports that 20-year-old Brandon Lerback entered a store on the 8300 block of West Overland Road and tried to steal items, including a television.
Lerback was stopped by store employees. He was then taken to the Ada County Jail where he was arrested and charged with burglary.

Boise Man Busted for Marijuana Possession

Clik here to view.(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Boise man was arrested for marijuana possession after he called police to report a fight.
Boise police say 25-year-old Charles Hall called the authorities to report a fight at a house on the 5200 block of West Morris Hill Road.
Responding officers said Hall was "standing outside wearing only a pair of shorts. Due to the cold temperatures, officers asked the man if they could speak inside and Hall said, 'Yes.'"
Inside the home, officers found marijuana in plain view. About 72 grams of marijuana was recovered from the home, as well as a digital scale and two glass pipes.
Hall was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony.

Man Caught With Drugs at Traffic Stop

Boise police say 28-year-old Kevin Kurtz was pulled over for speeding when officers found marijuana and morphine in his car.
Kurtz was arrested and charged with morphine possession, marijuana possession, driving without privileges, and failure to provide proof of insurance.

State Police to Give Updates on Location of 'Megaload' Shipment

"In an effort to keep the public better informed as to where the shipments are parked during the daylight hours, ISP will post the information every morning on its Twitter account at @IdahoStPolice," Idaho State Police said in a statement.
Officials say location information will not be provided while the shipment is in progress.

Semi Crash Blocks I-15 On-Ramp

Clik here to view.(POCATELLO, Idaho) -- A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 caused some delays for motorists for part of the morning Wednesday.
The crash was reported shortly after 6 a.m. on the southbound side of I-15 at the 57 on-ramp. Idaho State Police say a semi truck was the only vehicle involved in the collision that completely blocked the on-ramp for some time.
The on-ramp was eventually reopened.
There were no reports of injury.

Man Killed in Rollover Crash Near Rupert

The Idaho State Police said 66-year-old Darwin Davis was driving east on Highway 24, south of Rupert, when he veered into the westbound lanes, hit a curb, and crashed through a fence.
Davis was taken to Minidoka Memorial where he was declared dead.

One Dead, Two Injured in Head-on Car Crash

Clik here to view.(CLEARWATER COUNTY, Idaho) -- One man is dead and a woman and teen are injured following a car crash on Highway 12 Tuesday morning.
According to Idaho State Police, 65-year-old Walter Duggar was driving east in a tractor with an unloaded log trailer when he crossed the center lines and hit a pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the pick-up truck, 50-year-old Gregory Challinor, died at the scene.
Challinor's passengers, 45-year-old Linda Challinor and 14-year-old Kross Challinor, were injured in the crash and taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital.
Duggar was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.

Wintry Weather Brings Spike in Crashes in Boise

Clik here to view.(BOISE, Idaho) -- Boise Police say there have been a spike in vehicular crashes as wintry weather continues to create slick driving conditions on area roads.
On Wednesday officers were kept busy, being called out to at least 38 non-injury crashes, 17 slide-offs and seven injury crashes. Police say on Thursday morning they responded to at least 28 non-injury crashes, six injury crashes and six slide-offs.
The incidents were mostly due to black ice, fog and snow on local roads.
Police are urging motorists to be safe on the roads.

One in Custody, Two at-Large After Store Burglary

Boise police say 19-year-old Alisa Bradford and two other women entered a retail store on the 8300 block of West Overland Road and attempted to steal merchandise.
Bradford was detained by store employee while the two other women fled.
Bradford was arrested and charged with burglary.
The case is still under investigation.

Boise Duo Busted for Stealing from Retail Store

Boise police say a man and a woman were seen stealing from a store on the 8300 block of West Overland Road.
Officers then tracked down the duo thanks to a description of the suspects' car.
Jacob Lybbert, 29, was arrested and charged with burglary. The unidentified woman was charged with misdemeanor petit theft.

Man, 61, Killed in Saple Crash

Clik here to view.(SAPLE, Idaho) -- A man is dead and a woman is injured following a vehicular crash in Saple on Thursday.
Idaho State Police say a vehicle driven by Barbara Farrington was headed south on U.S. 95 near mile post 467.5, when she failed to maintain her lane, resulting in the vehicle entering the northbound lane and colliding with an oncoming vehicle driven by Darrel Kirking.
Kirking, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Farrington, 70, was taken to an area hospital for treatment to injuries sustained.
The crash remains under investigation.

City Council to Revise Solicitation Banning 'Aggressive Solicitation'

Clik here to view.(BOISE, Idaho) -- The Boise City Council is considering a revision to the existing ordinance that prevents "aggressive solicitation."
According to the Mayor's Office, aggressive solicitation is defined as solicitation that involves non-consensual physical contact, continues within five feet of the person being solicited after a negative response, obstructs the passage of the person being solicited and/or includes threatening statements intended to intimidate a person into responding positively.
Earlier this month, a U.S. District Court judge put a halt to the ordinance, saying that the first amendment grants solicitors the right to request money, regardless of it is makes the person being solicited uncomfortable.
The ordinance is likely to be revised to uphold the ruling of the District Court judge.

Boise Man Sentenced to Prison in Hit-and-Run, Attempted Kidnapping

Clik here to view.(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Boise man was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison on Thursday in connection with a hit-and-run crash and an attempted kidnapping.
According to the Idaho Statesman, Luis Pena Torres, 27, struck a pedestrian with his vehicle before fleeing. He ran into a Caldwell home occupied by an adult and three children unknown to him.
Torres allegedly attempted to grab at least one of the children, but left alone. As he fled, he crashed into a vehicle owned by the resident, says the Statesman.
Police eventually captured Torres and took him into custody. He pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted kidnapping, felony driving while intoxicated and joyriding. In addition to the prison time, Torres has to pay $2,600 in restitution and $1,126 in fines and court costs.
