(BOISE, Idaho) -- The Boise Police Department arrested two suspects for committing retail fraud on Monday.
The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit was called to a retail store, located at N. Milwaukee Street and W. Franklin Road, by employees on Monday afternoon. According to witnesses, two men made $1,700 in purchases with suspicious credit cards.
Officers arrived on the scene after the two suspects left. A short time later, a Boise Police patrol officer noticed the suspects' vehicle making a wide turn. The officer stopped the vehicle at the intersection of N. Curtis Rd. and Gage Street.
A Spanish-speaking officer was called to help translate between the officers and the suspects, Ruben Haro-Cota, 24, and Mario Alberto Ruiz-Nunez, 24. While speaking with the officers, Haro-Cota ran away but was quickly caught.
Both suspects were taken into custody, and the Boise Police Financial Crimes Unit determined the suspects were in possession of several counterfeit credit cards.
