(BOISE, Idaho) -- Officials believe that a leak in a canal above the highway between Horseshoe Bend and Emmett is to blame for the rockslides that shut down the highway on Sunday, the Idaho Statesman reports.
The Idaho Transportation Department cleared all the debris that fell on Friday and Sunday, but officials are worried that there may be more rockslides and the road is still closed. They are re-routing traffic onto Shell Rock Road.
It isn’t known how long the road will be closed.
