(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Payette, Idaho man who pleaded guilty in May to unlawful transfer of a firearm was given probation on Thursday.
According to the Idaho Statesman, Caleb Curtis, 29, was arrested in October 2013 for purchasing a hunting rifle for his neighbor, who was a convicted felon. W arlier this year, Curtis pleaded guilty to illegally transferring the weapon. On Thursday, he was sentenced to three years of probation and 60 hours of community service.
The Statesman reports that Curtis' neighbor had previously been convicted of statutory rape and provided Curtis with money to purchase the weapon, as he was prohibited from owning firearms.
