(BOISE, Idaho) -- Boice Police and fire officials rescued a man from the New York Canal on Monday afternoon.
A witness reported seeing a man in the water, yelling and waving his arms for help near Federal Way and Findley.
The rescue team reached the victim in the canal, west of Broadway, and pulled him to the shoreline.
He was intially unresponsive, according to police reports, but he was transported to a local hospital and has a "good chance of survival," officials said.
The individual is in his 50s and believed to be homeless.
