(BOISE, Idaho) -- Twenty-one people had to be treated for carbon monoxide exposure on Wednesday afternoon after a man decided to ride a scooter indoors at a Boise office building.
Authorities were called to the Simplot building in the area of South 10th and West Main streets around 1:15 p.m., after witnesses reported that a man had been riding a gas-powered scooter inside the building.
Fire officials said this led to a total of 21 people complaining of symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure, and having to receive medical treatment. Eleven of those treated -- including three pregnant women -- were taken to two nearby hospitals for evaluation as a precaution. However, officials said all symptoms appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Authorities said the man, who's an employee of a business in the building, allegedly rode the scooter on three floors of the building. No citations were issued.
