(BOISE, Idaho) -- An agreement between Boise cities and emergency officials will allow for a more unified emergency services system.
The fire districts of Boise, Meridian, Eagle and Kuna along with the North Ada County Fire & Rescue District and Ada County officials will all work together, according to Boise Mayor David Bieter, to provide the highest possible level of care for all patients, no matter when an emergency may occur. Additionally, by having a number of systems working together, the city expects to provide improved emergency response but reduce waste and expense for taxpayers.
The agreement will also establish a pair of medical directors -- one each from the Saint Luke's and Saint Alphonsus health systems -- who will coordinate all training and procedures among the emergency services. In doing so, Bieter believes that the standard of care to emergency patients will be consistent and of a higher quality.
