(BOISE, Idaho) -- A passenger on a flight out of Portland died of a heart attack Monday, despite an emergency medical landing in Boise, the Idaho Statesman reports.
Judy Ann VanAlstyne, 67, was headed to Phoenix from her Portland home when she went into cardiac arrest. The plane, which was about halfway to its intended journey, made an emergency landing at the Boise Airport at 12 noon.
Emergency officials were waiting at the airport when the plane arrived, and took VanAlstyne to the hospital, but she did not survive. An autopsy on Thursday should determine her exact cause of death.
According to Sarah Demory, the deputy director of operations and security for the Boise Airport, planes make emergency landings at the Boise airport for medical emergencies fairly regularly.
