(BOISE, Idaho) -- The Child Nutrition Division of the State Department of Education is seeking sponsors for the 2013 Summer Food Service Program, The Idaho Statesman reports.
The program provides free meals for children ages 1-18 who are in need of economic assistance after school ends for summer break. Sponsors are required to attend training and complete the application process as soon as possible. The department partners with sponsors such as camps, nonprofit schools, religious organizations and others, the paper says.
The state's 84 summer food sponsors served approximately 1.38 million meals at 343 sites in 2012, according to the Statesman.
