(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Boise woman is in police custody and two children are in the custody of the state following an incident on Wednesday where the woman was allegedly found passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at a Boise convenience store.
Shannon Ferdig is charged with possession of meth, injury to a child and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called to the 1500 block of South Orchard Street around 5 p.m. on a report that Ferdig was spotted unconscious sitting in a running car.
Police said when they approached Ferdig they observed syringes and other drug paraphernalia sitting in plain sight in the vehicle, and it's alleged that when she exited the vehicle to speak with officers, a small package containing meth fell to the ground.
Two children under the age of five were found in the vehicle and placed in the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
