(BOISE, Idaho) -- A new Boise flagpole monument honors a fallen soldier, The Idaho Statesman reports.
The monument, which sits in the memorial garden of St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, located at 2618 W. Bannock St., honors U.S. Army Sgt. Chris J. Workman.
The 33-year-old soldier, who grew up in Rupert and lived in Boise several years ago, was killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan in April. He was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division's 25th Combat Aviation Brigade at Wheeler Army Airfield in Hawaii, the paper says.
All military and service personnel and veterans are invited to attend a dedication ceremony and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, which is Veteran's Day, according to The Idaho Statesman.
