(HAILEY, Idaho) -- Fresh yellow ribbons are up in Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's hometown of Hailey as residents await his arrival.
Bergdahl, who had been held captive by the Afghan Taliban for nearly five years, has now arrived at a United States medical facility in Germany.
While Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel was on his way to Afghanistan to thank the special forces who carried out the rescue operation, he said, "Our first priority is assuring his well being and his health and getting him reunited with his family."
