(BOISE, Idaho) -- The smartphone service Uber, by which users are connected with drivers, is preparing to launch its services in the Boise market.
According to the Idaho Statesman, the San Francisco-based company is accepting applications on its website for drivers in the Boise area. Drivers are expected to use their own cars to shuttle customers and get a taxi license while also meeting local insurance and background check standards.
Uber says that the driver would make as much as $45,000 per year or $20 per hour as contractors, the Statesman reports.
Uber currently operates in about 70 cities.
