(BOISE, Idaho) -- Fish and Game officers are investigating a Wednesday morning attack on a dog in Boise that left the animal injured.
Police said the dog was in the backyard of a home in the Surprise Valley area when a neighbor heard the four-legged pet yelp and continue to make noise. The dog was then found with a puncture wound and was taken to an emergency veterinarian for treatment.
Police said it's unknown what exactly attacked the dog, however, the incident happened around the same time a neighbor reported seeing what appeared to be a mountain lion in the area.
